In only a few days' time The Sunday Boys are jetting off to Iceland, touring a varied repertoire to new audiences. We asked some members of the choir "Why Iceland?!"
I have been really fortunate to have been working regularly in Iceland over the last few years and when we discussed going on tour, as a choir, I thought what a better place? A country of music lovers, especially of choirs, and we have a mine of interesting and wonderful repertoire than the population is unlikely to have heard. I'm really looking forward to performing world premieres by the fantastic Anna Appleby (remember that name!), as well as myself, but also bring work by leading contemporary British composers to the island.
