Singing workshop for members of LGBT+ community
Saturday 20 January, 11am-5pm, at Albemarle Music Centre, Ferensway, Hull
Members of Gay Abandon combine forces for a workshop day with members of Hull Rainbow Choir, and anyone from the LGBT+ community who would like to come along and sing.
The day will be led by choir leaders Michael Betteridge and Jane Edwardson, and workshop is to promote singing to the LGBT+ community in Hull with a view to support and expand the Rainbow Choir in Hull. There are plans to round off the day with a series of mini performances around key venues in the City.
The workshop is about having fun singing together. All songs will be taught by ear – there is no need to read music, and no pressure to perform.
This is an opportunity to promote what excellent LGBT+ singing looks like to the LGBT+ community in Hull and collaborate with Gay Abandon for a day. It's a great networking opportunity and also a fantastic opportunity to help promote LGBT+ choral singing in Hull. 'Gay Abandon' have a plethora of tenors, but very few basses, so it would be great to help boost them!
If enough Sunday Boys members are interested then we will be able to perform our own stuff, as part of the mini performances planned. However if small, confident singers from the Sunday Boys want to perform some of our rep one or two to a part, that could also be arranged should people be interested
